Clip clop, clip clop

The highlight of the weekend has to be horse riding. Amy put Inki through her paces while Dolly regretted Andrew picking her for a hack through the trees. It was one of the funniest things ever, Andrew took the whole thing so seriously (as he tends to do with almost everthing new) and looked very much the country gent. Amy, on the other hand, seemed to take on something of the royal family as Inki took her to speeds of almost 0.5 mph. 30 minutes was enough, we didn't even mention to them the possibility of an extra session lasting two hours that involved a trek along a nearby beach. Going so slowly, I doubt that they would have even made it to the beach in the two hours!

By the way, we have already agreed with Santa that it would be inappropriate for Amy to get a pony for Christmas - we simply do not have the room for it.

The potting shed

For the last three weeks, we have been in complete turmoil in the back garden. We have been getting the garden sorted so that more than just the area immediately at the patio doors can be used for anything useful. As most of you will know, it was on a slope before and we decided to split it into two levels. As you will see from the pictures below, progress has been slow but it is taking shape. Andrew still thinks that it was fantastic that we had a digger in the back garden, and likes nothing better than getting out there to help the workmen with the cement mixer. We will be glad when it is finished, just in time for autumn and then winter.

Other news, Nana came to visit. Just for the afternoon, which is generally enough for any visitor.
